Job Title: Auction Yard Manager
Territory: Calgary, Alberta
Reporting to: Managing Director
Hours: Monday – Friday + weekends as necessary

For more than 50 years, Michener Allen Auctioneering been a major supplier of auctioneering services to a wide range of market interests across Western Canada. As of October 2023, Michener Allen Auctioneering was acquired by Euro Auctions with auction facilities spanning four continents providing the company with a global reach while maintaining its local identity.
The Job
• Manage all yard operations to ensure the smooth running of all auctions. • Oversee the booking in of all auctions stock ensuring accuracy of descriptions and correct procedures are followed. • Safe coordination and control of all loading and unloading activities. • Ensure all auction stock is suitably prepared for sale, photographed and displayed on the company website. • Manage and coordinate the workloads of all yard staff and subcontractors. • Liaise with the marketing team to ensure all equipment is photographed. • Resolve any stock related issues. • Liaise with customers and hauliers on suitable delivery and collection times.
The Person
This role requires an organised individual with excellent problem solving and task management skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to work both indoors and outdoors year-round and be physically fit to climb on and off large equipment.
Essential Requirements
• Valid Driver’s Licence • Fluent in written and spoken English is essential. • Minimum of 5 years managerial experience. • Experience in a similar role. • Experience/interest in heavy plant machinery and good knowledge of the different categories. • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent organisation and time management skills. • Be able to prioritise, multitask and use initiative • Flexible and available to work extra hours at short notice during busy auction periods.
Desirable Requirements
• Previous experience of stock control is desirable. • Telescopic Forklift Truck License is desirable.
